Sterling Silver Jewelry can be passed on to the next generation. Using a solid metal instead of "filled" which will last a lifetime or "plated" which may last up to 10 years, allows for a heretiage piece to be passed down to daughter or even granddaughter.
Although solid Sterling or Fine Silver may be a heretiage piece, it does need proper care and storage to maintain it's beautiful silver luster. Silver is well known for it's ability to tarnish if allowed to get repetively wet, exposed to salt (perspiration), other chemicals or even just air. It typically shines right back up with a polish cloth, however, the polish cloth can't get down into the crevices, and your jewelry piece will need a visit to a professional jeweler for cleaning.
